A single route, several entry points
In short
- After a Heroic TR or a Racial TR, you restart at level 1 and follow the route up to level 36.
- After an Epic Reincarnation, you restart at level 20, and after an Iconic TR at level 15. Both starting levels are unverified.
- To go from level 1 to 20, plan on 1,900,000 XP on lives 2 to 4, 2,850,000 on lives 5 to 7, and 3,800,000 from life 8 on.
- Earn your 12,600,000 Legendary XP in Reaper before you reincarnate, and 30 to 36 becomes instant.
- Plan on 8,250,000 XP to go from level 20 to 30, a figure from 2015 that is unverified after U81.
The route runs from level 1 to level 36 and does not change with the reincarnation type. Each life type joins it at its starting level and follows it to the cap.

- In every case, 30 → 36 is immediate if that character has already earned its legendary XP (§7). Do the life's legendary quests on Reaper before you reincarnate (golden rule #7).
- Heroic TR is not available during an iconic life wiki, not cross-checked R218. A True Reincarnation can be done from level 20 WR. Axel describes racial lives as 1-20 lives AX.
- Choosing between these reincarnations, and their order, is covered in §9.
3.1 Iconic reincarnation rules wiki, not cross-checked R218
- Heroic True Reincarnation (level 20) is not available during an iconic life.
- Iconic TR is only possible for a character in an iconic life, at level 30. It grants the iconic past life and the full-class past life.
- Epic Reincarnation is open to iconics.
- An iconic must reach level 30 to reincarnate (except Lesser). You then restart at level 1 as a heroic race or at level 15 as an iconic, your choice.
- Each iconic starts with a fixed class level. Examples: Purple Dragon Knight = Fighter, Tiefling Scoundrel = Bard.
- Inferred: the "Heroic TR 1 → 20" line only applies to a character that is not in an iconic life.
- No claim verified on Nov 5, 2026 establishes the exact starting level of Epic Reincarnation (back to level 20, cap at 30 or at 36). The first version of this sheet noted that the wiki page still cited "level cap (level 30)". That point is not among the verified claims WR N81 UNVERIFIED.

- Calculation: 8,250,000 XP is worth about 424 runs of The Mask of Deception on Elite (19,479 XP), or about 311 runs of A Legend Revisited on Elite (26,550 XP), before bonuses, potions and tomes R112 R94 R108.
- Calculation: an Elite saga reward (100,000 for Menace of the Underdark, 122,000 for Honor of the Huntsilver, 173,000 for Perils of Cormyr) is worth 5 to 9 runs of The Mask of Deception, about 1.2% to 2.1% of the 8.25M R102 R107 R94.
- Iconic with the tutorial declined: you are level 1 and take your levels as you like. Normally, no quest XP is gained until you have taken level 14, because of the banked XP cap wiki, not cross-checked R218.
- Starting XP for iconics on lives 2 and later: the U72 notes give none, and the Compendium gives neither an amount nor a per-life value R205 R206 R207. Whether the 850,000 XP shortfall applies to lives 2 to 4, and what it becomes on lives 5+, is not established UNVERIFIED. Iconics are paid content (worth flagging; no claim verified on Nov 5, 2026 confirms it, inferred UNVERIFIED).
